DPLL Games Announcement

2021 Dos Pueblos Little League
Games Start the Week of April 3rd!

We are excited to announce that Dos Pueblos Little League is almost in swing. Practices will begin on March 15th and games will return the week of April 3rd.  Practices will run from Monday to Saturday for three weeks, including during Spring Break.  There will be no opening ceremonies this year, as a reminder.  Game schedules will be available on dpll.net by March 15th.

It is important for everyone to understand that having full access to Girsh Park is a luxury that many other little leagues are not able to enjoy.  25 DPLL teams will be sharing field times for practices and games this season. Our goal, once games start, is for all teams to have a minimum of one quality field practice and one hitting practice (upper divisions) per week.

Parent, volunteer and manager/coaching paperwork including required training and certifications are due March 9th.  The paperwork process is streamlined, and you should have received instructions in email email from our Volunteer Coordinator on titled “DPLL Player Packet - Due March 9”.  Please do not add extra burden on our volunteers by turning this in late.  DPLL consists of 100% parent volunteers- just like you.

Lastly- please make time to play catch with your player(s) every day before the season starts.  Glove skills and arm strengthening are a vital aspect of baseball.

DPLL 2021 Spring Season

DPLL Little League
2021 Spring Season

DPLL Little League 2021 spring season practices will start on March 15th. These are unprecedented times for our children, and by providing a social, educational and physical outlet in baseball we can help improve their minds and bodies.

Registration for the 2021 season ended on February 20th. The DPLL Board of Directors is forming teams and developing a schedule that will afford our kids the opportunity to return to the baseball field in a modified manner, per public health department guidelines. Per the CDPH guidelines released on Dec 14th, 2020 baseball is classified as a moderate contact sport and games will be permitted when our county is in the Red Tier (or better).

March 8th teams and cohorts will be announced, and practices start March 15th.

Here is the basic framework for the 2021 DPLL season:

  • No player evaluations, Opening Day Ceremonies or concessions planned

  • Practices only - until scrimmages and games are allowed

  • Santa Barbara and Goleta elementary school boundaries will be heavily taken into account when forming teams

  • Juniors division teams will be formed based on previous years evaluation rankings

  • Each team will be divided into two cohorts of up to 6 players and 1 coach

  • A team will share field practice time between cohorts, infield and outfield

  • Clinics will be run under a similar structure, possibly starting in April - if and when permitted

  • Additional modifications may be implemented pending Little League® approval

Dos Pueblos Little League really appreciates your patience, support and involvement in youth baseball.  Please consider volunteering on your child’s team as we all need to contribute to make this a safe and successful season.
