DPLL Meets $30,000 Fundraising Goal!

We did it! We want to thank everyone that donated to the DPLL campaign in response to the fire that destroyed the DPLL shed and baseball equipment. We reached our $30,000 goal within 4 days of launching the campaign!

This happened with an amazing outpouring of support from our DPLL community who love the sport of baseball, local businesses, and local government.

We want to give a very special thank you to American Riviera Bank for their $7500 matching pledge. With their help and support through setting up a donation page and press releases, we were able to reach far beyond our normal email list. Read the full press release.

We also want to give a very special thank you to the City of Goleta, Mark Linehan of Camino Real Marketplace, Daniel and Mandy Hockman, Supervisors Joan Hartman and Greg Hart, and Major James Kyriaco who made a donation totaling $14,000! We are so immensely grateful for this outpouring of support from the entire baseball community.

We will be able to replace all equipment lost and replace our storage facility before the 2022 baseball season starts. We can’t wait to kick off an amazing season for the kids and the broader baseball community!

With Sincere Gratitude,

The DPLL Board

If you would like to still donate to DPLL, our Donation Page through American Riviera Bank is available HERE.

Fundraiser to Replace Lost Equipment

DPLL Fundraising to Replace Lost Equipment

On the night of August 18, 2021 DPLL’s equipment shed (located down the first base side of the Minors field) was burned by a random act of vandalism. The Santa Barbara Fire Department has ruled the probable cause as arson. If you have any information about the fire, please send an email to FireInfo@SBCFire.com.

As the DPLL community knows well this was the primary storage location that housed most of our field equipment, health and first aid supplies, volunteer materials, and umpire gear used on a daily basis during the season.

We are grateful that nobody was injured in the fire and that no other structures, or property at Girsh Park, was damaged as a result of the fire.

The DPLL Board is asking our local community, as well as the broader Little League community, for donations to help replace the structure and equipment that was recently lost. All donations made via this page will go directly towards replacing our lost equipment. If you would like to donate equipment directly, below is a list of items that were lost in the fire.

  • Shed and associated installation costs

  • Pitching machines

  • Sets of bases and handcarts

  • Boxes of baseballs

  • PA System

  • Sets of umpire gear

  • First aid/ sanitization supplies

  • Hoses and handcarts

  • Wheel barrels

  • Paint sprayers

  • Tables and chairs

  • Miscellaneous supplies

All donations are tax deductible and donations of any amount are appreciated!
